AOL Users

After connecting to the internet with AOL you need to open Internet Explorer and browse to https://mail.scaninc.org/exchange to open WebMail.

How do I view shared calendars using WebMail?

Type the following into the address bar, replacing username with the name of the calendar you wish to view: https://mail.scaninc.org/owa/username/calendar/.  You can bookmark the page for quick access in the future.

• VPN Connection 

  Virtual Private Networking (VPN) technology is used to provide a safe and secure method to access your files, printers, and other network resources from any internet enabled computer. There are 3 options, depending on the operating system you are using (Windows XP,& Vista, Windows 7 32-bit, and Windows 7 64-bit). Be sure to choose the correct option below.

  In order to install the new Cisco VPN client:

  1.  Right-Click on the link that corresponds with you operating system and select "Save Target As" to your desktop

                Windows XP & Vista VPN Connection

              Windows 7 (32-bit) VPN Connection

              Windows 7 (64-bit) VPN Connection

  2.  Double click on the SCAN-Cisco icon

  3.  Extract to your desktop

  4.  Open the SCAN-Cisco folder

  5.  Double click on the “vpnclient_setup” (Windows Installer Package)

  6.  Follow instructions (including restart when prompted).

  To use the Cisco VPN once it is installed:

  1.  Click on Start/All programs/Cisco Systems VPN Client

  2.  Click on “Connect” in the upper left corner

  3.  Enter your User name (the same as in the office)

  4.  Enter your password (the same as in the office)

  5.  Once the VPN is established the window minimizes down to the lower right of your screen in your system tray

  6.  To Disconnect, double click on the VPN Client icon (looks like a lock) in your system tray and once it appears on your screen select “Disconnect”

  7.  You may now close the window.
  

  ·   Once the VPN is established, staff can locate resources by typing the following into the address bar:  \\srv03.scaninc.org\shared1

  You can actually set up a folder on your desktop that will take you to Shared1 whenever you are connected.

  1.  Right-Click on your desktop

  2.  Choose “New”

  3.  Choose “Shortcut”

  4.  When the prompt comes up to “Type the location of the item”, type:

  5.  \\srv03.scaninc.org\shared1

  Now when you are connected via the VPN, this folder is available to you. When you are not connected the folder will not open up.
